Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Yehuda Ben-Zion, an international leader in earth sciences, provided seminal contributions focusing on the physics of earthquakes and faulting. His work includes important studies on the dynamics of single earthquake ruptures, but also addresses the elusive complexities in the collective behavior of fault systems. Among several projects, Professor Ben-Zion intends to continue his recent work on damage mechanics including results from rock mechanics experimentation while in Germany.
